I just want to give a huge shout out to M.Carr Master French who has been tutoring my son since mid-December 2019.
My son is in grade five french immersion. In the fall, his school teacher noted on his first progress report that he didn't seem as confident speaking french in the classroom setting. Since working with M. Carr, his confidence in spoken french has really soared. They have a 1/2 hour session together Monday to Thursday evening. My son quite literally runs in the door to get logged for his tutoring session. In our case, M. Carr and my son play Fortnite together. Due to the nature of the game, it involves dynamic conversation between players to problem solve and work as a team. In between play action, M. Carr also engages in conversational topics related to day to day events etc. at the level of my son's fluency. My son is so fully engaged, that he forgets any self consciousness about speaking french. I think this is just a brilliant model to teach a second language! Merci et Bravo M. Carr!
